Introduction

Welcome to the Xythos on Demand Evaluation Guide. This guide gives you the grand tour of major features in Xythos on Demand. To give you a practical understanding of how these features work, we have provided sample data for you. During the evaluation lessons you'll be adding some additional content and configurations to your account.

The lessons build on each other. While you can skip ahead we recommend that you perform these lessons in order. Once you're done feel free to continue experimenting with the sample data. You have full access so have fun!

 

Use Cases

During this evaluation you will be playing the role of a team member on a project. The tasks you perform (collaborating on documents, submitting materials for review, etc.) are typical for someone in that role. We show you representative ways of handling these tasks.

The emphasis of these lessons is on features available to users and not account administrators.

Preparation for the Lessons

Before beginning the first lesson you will need to create a Xythos on Demand account and add a user. The user account will be your user account which you will use for the following lessons.

To create a Xythos on Demand account, visit www.xythosondemand.com and step through the account registration process. Next, activate the account and then sign-in as the account administrator. After sign-in you will be presented with a Welcome page.

  1. On the Welcome page, click the Create User Accounts link. This will take you directly to the Users & Groups tab in Setup.

  2. Click the New User button to create a new user.

  3. Define the User Type as Internal User.

  4. Enter a Username (i.e. your name, such as jsmith or johnsmith) and Password.

  5. Enter a Display Name(i.e. your name, such as John Smith) and your email address. As an account administrator, you can also set the storage quota for the user. For now, leave the storage set at the default quota.

  6. Check the box for Send email with username and password to user. This way you will have a record of the login for your user account.

  7. Click the OK button to save the new user information.
    Your user account has been created.

  8. Click the Logout link in the upper right corner to exit Xythos On Demand.

 

Now that you're ready...

Let’s get started. Sign-in to Xythos On Demand using your Username and Password. This is the new user account which you just created. After you login we will get to know the web view.
