Xythos Buys Teamstream

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., August 8, 2002 - Xythos Software has purchased TeamStream for an undisclosed combination of stock and cash.
Based in San Francisco, Xythos is backed by IDG Ventures and Mobius Venture Capital (not affiliated with Mobius Management Systems, Inc.). and counts Chubb and Son and University of California at Los Angeles among its customers. Xythos' software allows users to collaboratively edit and manage files on remote web servers.
Once technology from San Jose-based TeamStream is integrated, users will be able to access files from their desktop as well as their browsers. Xythos will add three employees with the acquisition, boosting staff to 30 at its Maiden Lane offices.
