Exciting changes at Xythos
I have had the honor of representing Xythos since 2001 and together with our customers and management team, we have grown the company into a leading developer of document management and collaboration software. That is why I am excited about changes taking place at Xythos. Xythos has merged with Blackboard Inc. (Nasdaq: BBBB), a leading provider of enterprise software. Xythos will operate as an independent subsidiary of Blackboard and continue to leverage the strong relationship we have developed working together during the last several years as an OEM technology supplier. Blackboard’s financial strength assures long term viability for Xythos, their global sales channels offer new opportunities to take our technology to market, and their worldwide data centers will provide new ways of delivering our solutions to customers.
While there are many advantages to be gained from this relationship, much of what our customers know about Xythos, including their relationships with us, will remain unchanged. Xythos will continue to operate as an independent organization. We will continue to develop and support the same products and services our customers have come to know and trust. Xythos sales and support representatives will remain the primary contacts with our organization. Our management team and structure will remain the same and I will continue as the CEO of the Xythos subsidiary.
The combination of Blackboard and Xythos will provide many opportunities for our customers and partners in the future. In particular, it offers us the chance to enhance our focus within commercial and government markets while we leverage Blackboard’s strength in education. Xythos technology has become increasingly important for inter-organization collaboration and we intend to build on that strength.
